Ever wonder what happened with the rest of the Northlake development in Castaic, which has been on the drawing boards since at least 1992, if not earlier?
It could be coming – for real this time.
L.A. County Regional Planning will hold a public hearing May 24 at NorthLake Hills Elementary School in Castaic on the “NorthLake Specific Plan Project.”
The draft environmental documents were completed this week. [Read them here.]
Plans call for new development to add 3,150 homes on 1,330 acres, spread over two phases.
The 720-acre Phase 1 would bring 1,974 dwelling units, of which all but 588 would be multi-family apartment or condo units. Also; 13.9 acres of light industrial, 9.2 acres of commercial development, along with 407.3 acres of open space and parks and a fire station.
The approximately 1,200 units and an elementary school in Phase 2 would be built at a later date.
Castaic will have its own high school long before then.
Planning documents anticipate “significant and unavoidable” impacts on air and noise, and on freeway ramps in the Castaic area in the “horizon year” of 2028.
NorthLake Hills Elementary is located at 32545 Ridge Route Road. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

I don’t live there but how much longer can your water support all this infrastructure.
Anything we can do to block it should be done. Town doesn’t have the infrastructure to handle it. Nor do the fwys

So have they guaranteed there aren’t any more burial grounds in that entire vicinity like the bodies they uncovered during the initial project??? Orrrrr…
Why is everyone so against this? We will never get businesses back in here if we don’t get more people.
