The 17th Annual Bow-Wows & Meows Pet Fair takes over Hart Park in Newhall Sunday, Oct. 8, and hundreds of cats and dogs will be available there for adoption from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control will participate in the fair.
The family-friendly event is free to the public and well-behaved dogs are welcome to attend but must be on a leash.
Adoption fees will be discounted to $30 and a veterinary team will be present to answer any questions. Every county pet is spayed or neutered, immunized, micro-chipped, and ready to take home that day. We are hoping to break last year’s record number of 200 adoptions.
“This is a fun day, I encourage people to come and perhaps find a new family member,” said Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control Director Marcia Mayeda. “We are so thankful to the non-profit Bow-Wows & Meows, Inc. who have put together this event to promote pet adoptions.”
Other activities this year include high-flying canines catching Frisbees, the Famous Fun Dog Show, raffles, food trucks, pet supply vendors, two adopt-a-pet parades, and more.
William S. Hart Park is located at 24151 Newhall Avenue, Newhall 91321.
