Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies arrested a young transient on drug charges in Stevenson Ranch Sunday afternoon, according to station officials.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“Deputies responded to the 25900 block of The Old Road on Sunday afternoon around 3:30 p.m. for reports of ‘a suspicious person.’
“A male adult had been in a business’s restroom for a very long time and when he came out, someone found a used syringe left behind.
“Deputies located the man and determined he was under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of narcotics.
“The 22-year-old transient was arrested and transported to the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.
“We thank our community members and business owners who alert us whenever they see someone suspicious or something that doesn’t look right. Let us know — we’ll take it from there.”

Another one of our young people trapped in a drug addiction. Sheriffs will release the same or next day with a court appearance scheduled and a list of free rehabs that can take a couple months to get into.
The piece missing is a safe place for a young person to stay while waiting for a bed in rehab. If still using drugs they are not allowed in shelter even if there is room. Other cities have made safe places to stay short term while waiting for detox and rehab to become available.
It is safer for the community and safer for the addict to sleep in a bed and not in a park or a bathroom where they turn up dead. These are our kids!

What a Life. People oppose assisted suicide, and this person wants to join the cause. All the talk not to start marijuana didn’t help so now using needles.
My friend has a 25 year old son who OD twice last year and again this year on Heroin. He was a great kid growing up. Everyone liked him Good grades etc. She is scared to death for him. He is now in rehab so we are all saying prayers.
