[KHTS] – Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies are investigating yet another robbery of a Newhall gas station.
Sunday night’s robbery was the third involving a Newhall gas station and the fourth armed robbery in about a month, including a Canyon Country armed robbery of a pizza parlor.
“Nobody knows at this time if the incidents are related,” said Deputy Josh Dubin of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. “It was similar.”
This latest incident occurred around 9:30 p.m., which is around the time of the last two incidents, on the 24000 block of Newhall Avenue.
“(Two male black) suspects entered the store, walked around the counter and told the clerk to empty the cash register at gunpoint,” Dubin said.
Both suspects left on foot, heading south on Fourl Road.
This latest armed robbery is about five blocks away from one reported Sept. 11, when two male blacks, both between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, weighing between 160-180 pounds, walked into a gas station at the 23500 block of Newhall Avenue at 10:15 p.m., Dubin said.
“One had a small revolver-style gun and asked the clerk to open the register,” Dubin said.
About a week before that, deputies received a report of a similar crime at 23900 Lyons Avenue at 10:40 p.m., Dubin said.
During the second incident, the suspects wore ski masks as a disguise before ordering the store clerk around the gas station and then emptying the cash register.
In the Lyons Avenue incident, a witness was able to spot a getaway driver, so there is a third suspect, Dubin said.
In this most recent crime, Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies reported that the suspects used a semiautomatic handgun.
Two suspects committed an armed robbery at a pizza place on the 18900 block of Soledad Canyon Road, near Crossglade Avenue on Sept. 30.
In that incident, the suspects entered with firearms drawn, wearing bandannas over their heads, and made the employers surrender money from the cash register and the safe.
The robbery took place around 9:30 p.m.
The first suspect is 5’8, 180 pounds and was wearing a hoodie, and the second suspect was 5’9 and 175 pounds and also wearing a hoodie.
There are no suspects in custody, and no suspect information has been released.
The crimes are being investigated by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Detective Bureau, Dubin said. Witnesses are asked to call the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

I wonder why this (and most other) news outlets never give the name of business and\or exact address of crime locations just the block location (e.g 23500 block of Newhall, etc).
I’m consuming a lot on time on Google Street View to track down the places :-)
