Part of the festivities will include celebrating Zeus’ 12th birthday.

The Gentle Barn is honoring 2019’s Year of the Pig with some of the world’s most amazing pigs at a public event Sunday, April 21, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

“Normally, pigs in the wild have a difficult time living past 8 years, but at The Gentle Barn, there are pigs that live twice that or longer,” says Ellie Laks, Founder of The Gentle Barn. “And at The Gentle Barn, our pigs get to interact with children of all ages and families from around the world. The experience with animals helps to inspire gentler living and respect for all life.”

At center of the event will be Zeus’ 12th birthday, Honey Bear’s 5th birthday, Jellie the pig is 15, and Truffles the potbelly pig is 18.

“Please join us in celebrating their intelligence, affection, and gentleness, with all the tummy rubs they allow us to dole out,” says Laks.

The Gentle Barn has been rescuing and rehabilitating abused and neglected farm animals for 20 years. The Gentle Barn animal sanctuary provides every level of nourishment, physical therapy, acupuncture, socializing therapy and now has completed a successful test trial with CBD supplements.
