A man and woman from Arizona were arrested and cited, respectively, on drug charges following a patrol check by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies in Valencia Sunday night.
Here’s more of the story from the station’s social media:
“A deputy was conducting patrol checks around 10 p.m. Sunday on the 27900 block of Kelly Johnson Parkway in Valencia when something caught his eye.
“In a store’s parking lot, he observed a parked vehicle with its interior light on, illuminating a male adult slumped over the steering wheel.
“Concerned for the man’s welfare, the deputy got out of his car to make contact. As he got closer, he saw there was a female passenger laying down with what appeared to be drug paraphernalia on her lap.
“The vehicle occupants were stirred by the deputy and detained pending a narcotics investigation.
“Narcotics and paraphernalia were found in the vehicle. Deputies arrested the 23-year-old Arizona man on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for sales and on a misdemeanor charge for possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“The 24-year-old female passenger, who was also from Arizona, was cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia.
