See a special presentation of a classic silent movie, complete with a view of the summer night sky at the “Silents Under the Stars,” presented by the Friends of Hart Park and the Museum with L.A. County Parks on Saturday, August 13 at 6 p.m.
This year’s movie will be the 1914 Western “The Bargain,” starring William S. Hart in his first major silent film role, with a live piano accompaniment by Ray Lowe.
The event’s special guest will be Wyatt McCrea, the grandson of Western star Joel McCrea, who starred in films such as “Foreign Correspondent,” “Buffalo Bill,” and many other Western films and shows.
Emcees for the event are the hosts of “SCV In the Movies” on SCVTV, E.J. Stephens and Bill West. Musical entertainment will be provided by Mr. Mild Bill & His Mild Cats, who perform at Disneyland.
Besides the screening of the film, there will also be a silent auction and a BBQ dinner, provided by Rattlers, that begins at 7p.m., as well as evening William S. Hart mansion tours and patio seating, which begin at 6 p.m.
The movie starts as soon as the sun goes down.
The event will be at William. S. Hart Park at Hart Hall, at 24151 Newhall Avenue.
Tickets are $50 per person or $500 for an entire table of 10. The event does sell out so order tickets soon. Tickets can be ordered at http://friendsofhartpark.org/silents/ or by calling at (661) 222-9542.
