What is CHALLENGE club soccer?
Club soccer WITH the AYSO Philosophies
AYSO Region 678 is proud to offer Club Soccer for accomplished AYSO players who want to play at a higher level in the top CLUB soccer league in Southern California while enjoying the benefits of the AYSO Philosophies and the family-friendly environment of Region 678.
The facts about CHALLENGE:
Our players play at least 50 percent of every game — GUARANTEED
We play in the Coast Soccer League, the premier CLUB league in the Southland, against top club teams.
Challenge has been highly successful in club soccer amassing an impressive 75-31-16 record for Fall 2014.
Our 2014 fee of $425 for the Fall season included League and State Cup tournaments
There are NO HIDDEN fees OR mandatory MONTHY trainer fees!
Our club currently has 10 teams. Visit our Challenge Page on the Coast Site
Our coaches have advanced licenses by Cal South, the governing body of club soccer, AND from AYSO.
Our coaches are VOLUNTEERS. They are here for the kids, and are not motivated by training fees and huge rosters.
Our rosters are limited in size to ensure quality playing time NOT bench time!
Playing Challenge means you play on LOCAL fields, convenient for your family and friends.
WE are a non-profit, community-based organization. You are OUR FAMILY!!!
These are the facts. Don’t let anybody tell you anything different!
Here’s FOUR questions other Clubs DON’T want to answer:
Ask them how much playing time they can guarantee.
Ask them how much extra you will pay outside of the registration fee which is often THREE times MORE than Challenge!
Ask them why more top players are coming to play on CHALLENGE teams
Ask them why they’re looking up at Challenge in the standings!!!
Never heard of Club Soccer in AYSO? We debuted our program in Fall 2014 and are very honored to pioneer this ground-breaking program for AYSO and intend to make this program accessible to all soccer players.
AYSO players are selected for the teams through tryouts. Challenge Teams are dual Registered with AYSO and Cal South and are a “club” (AYSO Challenge Club). So, Challenge Teams Coaches and Players have all of the advantages of being in a club, while still being an AYSO Team!
The Challenge Program operates under all the AYSO philosophies.
Everyone Plays
Players who are selected for the team get to play at least 50%of each game; we don’t have “starters” and “benchers.”
Balanced Teams
We strive to ensure the teams we field are competitive with the club teams. We won’t field a team that doest not have a chance of being successful.
Open Registration
Players are selected for the teams based on objective analysis of their ability by AYSO Advanced Coaches.
Positive Coaching
Challenge Teams are coached by AYSO Advanced and Club Licensed Coaches who adhere to our coaching philosophy.
Good Sportsmanship
Challenge Teams represent AYSO and practice and play exhibiting the same great sportsmanship you find in the other AYSO programs.
Player Development
Challenge Teams support our philosophy of Player Development by giving our most accomplished players a challenging environment in which to continue growing.
If you want to increase your level of play and you are a dedicated player, tryout for a Challenge Team. Challenge Teams are the most competitive level of play in the AYSO program.
