The victim killed in a head-on collision Tuesday evening in Castaic has been identified by CHP officials.
John T. Owens, 46, was the driver of a 1991 Nissan, succumbed to his injuries on scene, according to a report of collision by CHP.
Munoz remains in critical condition, meaning her vital signs are unstable, according to Maria Orem of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital.
Kimberly Milligan remains in fair condition, meaning her vital signs are stable and within normal limits, Orem said. Milligan is also conscious.
From a previous story:
Initial investigation indicates Susan Munoz, 22, of Castaic, was driving a 2010 Mazda southbound on the Old Road, north of Hillcrest Parkway, according to a preliminary California Highway Patrol report.
For an unknown reason, Munoz crossed into the northbound lane and was in a minor sideswipe collision with Jessica Rausch, 28, of Castaic, who was driving a 2010 Toyota, according to CHP officials. Rausch continued northbound, while Munoz continued southbound still within the northbound lane.
Moments later, a second collision occurred, according to CHP officials. This collision was head on in nature between Munoz and a 1991 Nissan.
The passenger of the Nissan, Kimberly Milligan, 30, of Canyon Country and Munoz were extricated and transported by AMR to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, according to CHP officials. The driver of the Nissan succumbed to his injuries on scene.

RIP WHISKEY!! Sucks u had to go out by a careless driver!
I certainly hope a wrongful death lawsuit is filed against this negligent woman. I knew the deceased well and he was loved and will be missed dearly by many.
How can u know islf there has been charges filed againsrt the driver who was drinking
Kim was in that accident, too. She was John’s passenger. I don’t understand the hate. Susan doesn’t appear to have been drinking. You don’t know what happened. What you do know is this: Three families have been deeply and forever changed by this accident. Not just John’s. Kim’s family (us), and Susan’s family, also. The CHP won’t have a cause for many more months, I am told by CHP officers. Please have some compassion FOR ALL families that have been hurt by this accident. Hate doesn’t do any of us any good. We need good vibes, not negative please.
There is no indication that there was alcohol involved. Please remember that John’s friends and family aren’t the only ones in pain right now. Kim and our family, and Susan’s family are also going through hell right now. We don’t need hate right now. All we know right now is this: John was tragically killed on impact. Kimberly has now been put into an in house physical rehab facility. Susan is still in ICU. THREE families have been forever changed by this tragic accident. Don’t make rash judgements because from what I understand alcohol was not a factor. The CHP says the accident will continue to be investigated for several months. To me, that is indicative of possible mechanical failure. Please show some compassion for ALL of the families who have been permanently altered because of this accident. We need positivity and love. Not hate and anger.
