Nominations for the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced recently and CalArts alumni have, as in previous years, made it to the short list.
Don Cheadle (Theater BFA 86) received his third consecutive nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as slick management consultant Marty Kaan in Showtime’s House of Lies.
Johnny Bradley (Theater BFA 07) and Daniel K. Boland (Theater BFA 95) are part of the lighting design team for NBC’s reality television singing competition The Voice, which was nominated for Outstanding Lighting Design/Lighting Direction for a Variety Series.
ABC’s 86th Academy Awards, for which Gloria Lamb (Theater BFA 05) served as an Art Director, garnered a nomination for Outstanding Art Direction for Variety, Non-Fiction, Reality or Reality-Competition Programming.
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards hosted by comedian Seth Meyers will be broadcast on Aug. 25 at 8 pm on NBC. The Creative Arts Emmys, which honor the technical and behind-the-scenes crafts of television, will be held on Aug. 16 in LA and will be broadcast on Aug. 24 at 8 pm on FXM.
