The City of Santa Clarita has launched a new website, WelcometoSantaClarita.com, which now serves as a virtual welcome package for new residents and business owners interested in learning more about services and programs provided by the City.
“We understand moving to a new City is exciting and can also be a bit stressful if you don’t have everything you need at your fingertips,” said Mayor Frank Ferry. “We designed WelcometoSantaClarita.com with the new resident or business owner in mind, working to include links, phone numbers, and information about programs in one place so that getting settled in Santa Clarita is as simple as possible.”
The City created the website to make the process of acclimating to the community as easy as possible, providing information, links, and phone numbers for the most sought-after services and programs in one convenient location. The site offers six focus areas, including City Information, Public Safety, Schools, Services, Transportation, and Utilities and provides details about everything from City pools, parks and public safety programs to phone numbers, hours and links to services provided by Los Angeles County and other local organizations.
The City annexed three new communities in June, which included Soledad Commons, Elsmere Canyon and Copperstone. By December 2012, the City of Santa Clarita will also include North Copperhill, Vista Canyon/Fair Oaks/Jakes Way, Norland Road, and South Sand Canyon. The 2012 annexations will add approximately 25,000 residents to the City, bringing the City’s population to just over 200,000 and making the City of Santa Clarita the third largest City in Los Angeles County based on population.
