Deputy Jon Wilson, Canyon Country West Zone 7 leader
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit has the station’s jurisdiction divided into 8 zones. Each respective zone has a Crime Prevention Unit deputy assigned as a Zone leader.
The deputy is responsible for keeping track of the crimes that are being reported in his or her assigned area, and serves as a liaison to residents and businesses to address any concerns or questions.
Deputy Jon Wilson is the leader for Zone 7, the Canyon Country (West) area. Residents have reached out to him requesting more patrol in specific areas and have notified him of suspicious activity occurring in their neighborhood.
As a result of the requests, patrols have increased in Canyon Country and specialized teams at the SCV Sheriff’s Station have also assisted.
In recent weeks, there has been uniformed bicycle patrol conducted in the areas of Whites Canyon Road, Soledad Canyon Road and Sierra Highway.
Deputy Wilson tracks the crimes occurring in Zone 7 on a weekly basis. Here’s what was reported between July 18-28:
