Crime Information and Public Safety Information for East Canyon Country: Week of April 11th – April 17th

Burglary (Residential) – 04/15/16, 27600 block of Rosa Lane -The victim saw a male Hispanic inside his attached garage and confronted him. The suspect ran to a waiting vehicle, which was parked in the street. He left the location in an unknown direction.

Burglary (Residential) – 04/11/16. 17200 block of Mount Stephen Avenue -The victim was upstairs when he heard his home alarm sound off. He looked outside and saw two males carrying items. The suspects dropped the items and left the location in a white vehicle.

Burglary (Vehicle) – 04/14/16 – 04/15/16, Jakes Way/Eleanor Circle – An unknown suspect smashed the victim’s passenger side rear window to her vehicle. Cash, sunglasses and music CDs were stolen.

Grand Theft Auto – 04/14/16 – 04/15/16 , 27300 Fahren Court- An unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1993 White Honda Accord from the location.

Petty Theft – 04/15/16 – 04/16/16, 17400 Ascona Drive – An unknown suspect opened the victim’s unlocked vehicle and took her backpack which contained numerous items.

Summer Safety Tips

Every year there are tragedies that occur near a pool or other water recreation. Here are some tips that will keep the family safe and fun throughout the summer:

Never leave your child unattended around water. We know it sounds strict, but there is no room for compromise on this one. Babies can drown in as little as one inch of water. Put the cell phone away, forget about all the other things you have to do and give young children 100 percent of your attention when they are near or around water.

Parents have a million things to do, but learning CPR should be on the top of the list. It will give you tremendous peace of mind – and the more peace of mind you have as a parent, the better.
