[KHTS] – Southern California Edison recently donated $5,000 to the nonprofit SCV Youth Project.
“SoCal Edison is so excited and happy to give SCV Youth Project this grant for their excellent programs for Santa Clarita teens,” said Anna Frutos-Sanchez, SoCal Edison representative. “This kind of outreach is needed for their motivation and self-esteem.”

“We provide free services to all of our teens here in Santa Clarita,” said Kim Goldman.
The SCV Youth Project is entering into it’s 15th year.
“We’re on all of the junior high and high school campuses, working with kids in a one on one setting,” said Kim Goldman. “We also do outreach and crisis intervention for our kids that are dealing with depression, suicide, grief and loss, angry, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying, peer pressure… just life stuff.
“So this money directly impacts their lives, so we can continue to provide our free services to them.”
About SCV Youth Project
Where you find young adults, you will also find the Santa Clarita Valley Youth Project. Whether youth are online, on campus, or in the community, we are there! Our mobility, and aggressive outreach, allows us to interact with youth one-on-one or in a group setting, providing them with current resources and linking them with services they need to deal with the challenges they face every day. Through this we are able to create long lasting, trust-based relationships, and focus on preventing high-risk behavior * not reacting to it.
We offer individual counseling, support groups, crisis intervention, and education … FREE to all youth (12-18), regardless of need.
SCV Youth Project’s mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where teens and families are strengthened, empowered and equipped with the tools they need to live successful and fulfilling lives.
We change lives of youth, parents, and families. We are easily accessible to all through:
* Crisis Intervention
* Individual Counseling
* Outreach and Education
* Group Counseling
It’s OK to ask for help…. We will be there.
