[KHTS] – Law enforcement officials are investigating an allegation involving an Einstein Academy staff member, officials said Saturday.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Department’s Special Victims Bureau and Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to the 28100 block of Kelly Johnson Parkway around 9 a.m. Friday, according to officials.
Albert Einstein Academy for the Letters, Arts and Science officials contacted law enforcement as soon as the allegations were brought to their attention, said AEA high school Principal Ed Gika.
“(We contacted law enforcement) immediately after it was brought to our attention (Friday morning),” Gika said. “The individual who was allegedly involved is on administrative leave with pay until the investigation is resolved.”
Gika declined to identify the staff member, because the allegations were still under investigation. He was not aware of any charges being filed as of Saturday morning.
LAPD officials confirmed detectives from the Foothill Division of the Los Angeles Police Department responded to a report, and were on campus to conduct an investigation.
Because of the location of the school, Sgt. Brian Hudson of the Special Victims Bureau confirmed deputies were notified — but they determined none of the allegations took place in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Special Victims Bureau focuses on child sexual and physical abuse investigations.
LAPD officials would not confirm the identity of any suspects or arrests made with respect to the investigation.
Witnesses reported students were being interviewed on campus Friday, and the school put out a statement obtained by KHTS AM-1220.
It read:
Dear AEA Families,
Today school leadership was made aware of very serious allegations involving a staff member. Be assured that we are taking all proper and necessary action, and that investigation into this matter is being handled by the proper authorities.
Right now, our focus and concern is exclusively for our students, and we are most concerned about rumors and misinformation that could be hurtful to them.
We will continue to update and apprise you of any developments as this matter progresses.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
Edward Gika

Guess it didn’t take an Einstein to figure that one out, eh?
Judging from some of the comments, apparently it does.

Great article. Nothing explained. Might as well leave the door open for assumptions.
An allegation of what? This article is ridiculous.
“Right now, our focus and concern is exclusively for our students, and we are most concerned about rumors and misinformation that could be hurtful to them.”….. So let put out a letter that basically says nothing and gives no information!
I am glad that an appropriate investigation will be conducted. It shows proper care and application of rules. It is curious that any news agency would notify the public of an internally initiated Investigation where no charges have been issued. A persons reputation is at stake here. Why is this not done for every SVU investigation? Why would someone select this over any other?
It is done for every one the media find out about. KHTS (the news agency whose story it is) only knew about this one because the school issued a statement.
Maybe this type of sensationalism is exactly what they intended to do. Hide behind the first amendment instead of allowing a persons right to innocence before being PROVEN guilty. The article and letter both state there are allegations by a minor… Every parent knows their own children would never lie, but then there is the old chair game where a comment heard is passed among people.
Sounds like the staffer is a pervert or pedophile. I can only guess because whom ever wrote the article forgot that a reader should be able to figure out who, what, where & why!?

What makes you think that they would be allowed to disclose this information… It is still being investigated so obviously no details can be disclosed at this time..
Carlos Vasquez good idea los. Lol
Just like CCN. Always reporting without fact checking first! Murica
.?? No information here.
This article is absurd…We need better information and much better reporting…
What a #bigjokeSCVTV bad journalism
stop complaining, they can’t disclose alogations witch are still being invenstigated . Because in this country people are INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
At least they don’t want us to pay for reading them like the SIGNAL
