Randolph Clifford Jackson
[KHTS] – Former Einstein Academy basketball coach Randolph Clifford “Randy” Jackson, who was charged with a litany of sex crimes against several former students he worked with in the L.A. area, was extradited from Washington, D.C., on Tuesday and taken into custody Tuesday night, according to Sheriff’s Department records.
Jackson, 27, was arrested on more than 20 sex crimes charges, involving five alleged victims that were identified through an investigation by the Juvenile Division of the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office.
The charges were filed by the Los Angeles Police Department on Feb. 18, after an investigation began at Albert Einstein Academy for the Letters, Arts and Sciences.
“A felony warrant was issued for his arrest, and that’s why the (task force) arrested him in Washington, D.C.” said Officer Nuria Vanegas of the LAPD, who added that Jackson briefly was considered a fugitive.
He’s being held in lieu of $840,000 bail.
He is expected to be arraigned on the charges Thursday, officials said.
