[Ventura CHP] – On Friday, Sept. 16, at 3:55 a.m., a fatal traffic collision occurred involving a white 2009 Volkswagen STI, a brown 2016 Ford F-250, and an orange 2014 Ford Fusion on State Route 126, west of Old Telegraph Road.
A male driver, age 20 out of Fillmore, was driving a 2009 Volkswagen STI on eastbound State Route 126, west of Old Telegraph Road. William Bullis, age 63 out of Lake Hughes, was driving a 2016 Ford F-250 on westbound State Route 126, west of Old Telegraph Road along with a female passenger, age 66 out of Lakes Hughes.
William Davis, age 56 out of Canyon Country, was driving a 2014 Ford Fusion on State Route 126, west of Old Telegraph Road, directly behind the Ford F-250.
For reasons that are still under investigation, the Volkswagen veered into the westbound lanes of State Route 126 and collided with the left rear of the Ford F-250. The Volkswagen then lost control and traveled towards the north shoulder or State Route 126, which caused a broadside collision with the Ford Fusion.
The male driver of the Volkswagen was transported to Ventura County Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries. His identity is not releasable at this time pending next of kin notification. Mr. Bullis, Mr. Davis and the female passenger all sustained minor injuries and were treated at the collision scene. All vehicles sustained major damage.
The collision is still under investigation by the Ventura Area CHP Office. Anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the collision is asked to call the Ventura Area CHP office at (805) 477-4100.
