Detectives are on the lookout for an exhibitionist who exposed himself to a Newhall boutique employee Friday afternoon.
A male shopper entered the boutique on Main Street around noon and exposed himself to the 21-year-old store employee.
She was working alone in the store when a man dressed in business attire came in and said he was looking for a dress to wear to a costume party he planned to attend with his wife.
The man was in the dressing room when he asked the employee for help, a witness said. When the employee responded, she found the man standing fully nude in the doorway of the dressing room with the curtains open.
The man proceeded to ask her what he could wear under the dress, stating he clearly couldn’t wear boxers because he was too big, said the store clerk’s mother.
The employee, not wanting to upset the suspect, suggested she would get the man a pair of shorts and said she could ring them up with his purchase later.
The man then asked her another question and exposed himself again. He asked her if there were any other stores with cheaper clothing in the area and left without making a purchase. The employee called the sheriff station.
Investigators plan to review security camera footage Monday, said sheriff’s Lt. Robert Hahnlein.
The suspect is a white male in his late 20s or early 30s and was reportedly driving a 4-door black Honda Civic.
