Former SCVTV Production Manager Halie Cook is being added to the ranks of some of College of the Canyons’ most prestigious alumni in the 2019 College of the Canyons Alumni Network Alumni Hall of Fame.

Cook is a meticulous, inquisitive, creative professional. After graduating from CSUN, she worked anywhere she could to learn her craft, according to her inductee bio. After shooting news stories in Phoenix, AZ she landed back in Los Angeles, currently working as a photographer at KNBC4 as one of the few female photographers in the Los Angeles market.

“Without COC professors and counselors guiding me, I would never have found my career path. They had a direct impact on my life from student to professional,” Cook said in the announcement.

The Alumni Hall of Fame is set to be held on Thursday, April 25. A reception will be held at 5 p.m. with a dinner and ceremony to follow at 5:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here.

Cook began her successful career at SCVTV where she became a senior photographer and production manager for the station. She produced a number of programs and news packages while serving as a leader at the station.

After spending six months working in Phoenix, she decided to move to the KPNX-TV bureau in Flagstaff where Halie has had the chance to cover issues surrounding the Grand Canyon and Native American reservations that are nearby, according to her bio.

“We are extremely proud of Halie and the journey she has followed, ” said Leon Worden, president of SCVTV. “We look forward to seeing the amazing things that she will do and hope that others are inspired by her hard work, dedication and commitment to telling the stories of her community.”

Other 2019 inductees include John Garzon, Amanda Bock, William Harwood, Thomas Iland, Jamie LeRoy, Christine Lopez and Jason d’Autremont.
