[KHTS] – In high school baseball, Hart and Saugus won their Foothill League games on Wednesday and stayed in a tie for first place.
Hart beat a feisty Golden Valley team, 7-6. The Indians were up 5-0 in the first inning, but Golden Valley scored three runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth inning to cut the Hart lead to one.
Cody Miller was 2-for-3 with a triple and a home run. He drove in three runs for Hart.
Saugus beat West Ranch, 4-1. Roy Verdejo hit a two-run home run for Saugus.
Valencia beat Canyon, 14-1.
Hart and Saugus sit atop the Foothill League standings with 9-3 records. Valencia is in third place at 8-4. West Ranch dropped to fourth place at 7-5.
Canyon is 3-9. Golden Valley has yet to win a Foothill League game and is 0-12.
