Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital announced the appointment of Chris Luechtefeld to the Hospital’s Board of Directors.
Luechtefeld will serve as liaison to the Hospital’s Foundation and has previously served on the Foundation’s Board since 2010 and is currently Chair Elect, Vice Chair of Major Gifts, and a member of the Capital Campaign Cabinet for the new patient tower which will add up to 119 patient beds to the Hospital upon its anticipated completion in 2018.
His introduction to the Foundation, however, began earlier when he first chaired the Annual Frontier Toyota/Henry Mayo Drive Safe Golf Classic in 2005. Since then, he has served in multiple capacities.
“I am honored and look forward to serving in this capacity with my fellow Board Members as we continue to build services at Henry Mayo,” he said.” I feel it is important to give back to the community by supporting and promoting one of its most valuable assets—the Hospital.”
A resident of Valencia for 36 years, Luechtefeld lives in the Santa Clarita Valley with his wife and two children. He is a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley.
“Both the Hospital and its Foundation have benefitted greatly from Chris’ commitment and involvement,” said Roger Seaver, CEO and President of Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital. “His knowledge, experience and financial expertise will help us continue to build for the health of the Santa Clarita Valley community.”
Henry Mayo is governed by a 15-member volunteer Board of Directors. The selection and ultimate election of new board members begins with the recommendations of the Governance Committee that consists of respected local business or civic leaders.
