Santa Clarita Valley High School Sports Report for April 4, 2016:
High School Baseball
Valencia came away with a 5-3 victory over West Ranch to stay undefeated atop the Foothill League standings. Ben Fariss threw six innings of three hit baseball, allowing three earned runs in the process.
Timmy Josten matched Fariss pitch for pitch through the first two innings before four in the fourth, two unearned, coupled with a three run home run by Alex Huerta.
High School Softball
Mariah Lopez pitched four scoreless innings for Saugus as they came away with a 10-1 victory over Chatsworth. Clarissa Ellwein and Ty Cueva hit home runs in the ballgame.
High School Boys & Girls Lacrosse
West Ranch started fast in the first ever all-SCV girls lacrosse matchup against Valencia, coming away with a 12-9 victory. Maya Evansa dn Audra Kim had three goals each for the Wildcats, while Kayla Konrad scored twice for the Vikings.
In boys lacrosse, West Ranch overpowered Valencia 14-5 for their third straight victory. Seven Wildcats scored in the game as Bryce Hildebrand had four goals on the day.
High School Swimming
The Hart boys and girls swept Canyon in the pool on Friday. Genesis Lewis won the 50 free and 100 butterfly while Adam Osowski won the 50 and 200 freestyles in the dual victory.
