July 9 Patriots Luncheon to Honor Veterans for Service

The annual Patriots Luncheon hosted by the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce will be held Thursday, July 9, at the Hyatt Valencia Hotel.

The luncheon honors military veterans from the Santa Clarita Valley, many of whom have continued to serve their community after leaving the service.

Among this year’s honorees are:

* Andy Anderson, U.S. Navy – World War II and Korea

* Lou Loubensky – World War II

* Roy Burns, U.S, Marine Corps – Vietnam

* R.J. Kelly, U.S. Marine Corps – Vietnam

* Dick Jeffery, U.S. Marine Corps – Vietnam

* Tina House, U.S. Navy – Desert Storm

A portion of the funds raised at the event will benefit the Ian Gelig Scholarship Program, named for an Army paratrooper from the SCV who was killed in Afghanistan in 2010. Scholarships provide financial support to local veterans and military family members who are pursuing higher education.

Tickets to the Patriots Luncheon are $50, and sponsorships are available. RSVP through the website, SCVChamber.com, or call 661-702-6977.
