Actually…they need to widen Sand Canyon going south toward the north-west corner to two lanes. There is always a huge line of cars trying to get to the school and the people going straight have to wait in it too because of the single lane. Hopefully they have a plan for that otherwise making the Lost Canyon bridge wider would be useless.
Growing up off Lost Cyn. I always heard they were going to widen it.
If there is to be a multi-use trail along Lost Canyon, I hope an improvement is made to Sand Canyon Road under the railroad bridge. At this time there’s no sidewalk or bike/pedestrian path along the road and the informal dirt singletrack is difficult to negotiate at any time and very hard to traverse safely in rainy weather. A path or sidewalk would encourage some of the Sulphur Springs and Pinecrest students to walk to school rather than being driven and make it easier for Sand Canyon residents to walk or bike up to the shops and bus stops on Soledad.
Why doesn’t the city/county make the two new approved developments pay for the bridge improvements? They are going to add a lot of car trips to Lost Canyon when it is extended over to Jakes Way.
