May 16: Western Music Association Showcase at El Trocadero Steakhouse
Time: 6:30 p.m.
Musicians and cowboy poets perform stories and songs of the romantic Old West, contemporary music of the American West, and songs of the open range and the American cowboy. To perform your Western music or poetry with them during this event, email wmacc@westernmusiccalifornia.org.

May 17: ARTree – Figure Drawing at ARTree Community Arts Center
Time: 6:00 p.m.
Are you an artist frustrated with the lack of opportunities to draw in Santa Clarita? Come to ARTree Community Arts Center for a chance to really explore your creative potential using a live model. Just drop in and bring a pencil and paper.
Every 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of the month, with some additional dates throughout the year.

May 17: SENSES Block Party – British Invasion at Main Street in Old Town Newhall
Time: 7:00 p.m.
The wildly popular SENSES Block Party presented by Valencia Auto Center brings live music, food trucks, themed activities, and adult beverages to Main Street every Third Thursday from March to October. Snap a photo at the lounge, grab a drink from the on street bar (hosted by 8th and Rail, El Trocadero, or Newhall Refinery), dance the night away to high energy performers, and order a bite from the food trucks or local restaurants. May 18: Unveiling of the Santa Clarita Cycling Bear at Chuck Pontius Commuter-Rail Trail adjacent to Valencia Boulevard (near the AMPM station on 23106 Valencia Boulevard
Time: 10:00 a.m.
The Santa Clarita City Council is inviting the community to attend the Santa Clarita Cycling Bear unveiling dedication on Friday, May 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. located on the Chuck Pontius Commuter-Rail Trail adjacent to Valencia Boulevard (near the AMPM station on 23106 Valencia Boulevard.
The Santa Clarita Cycling Bear was painted by artist Frank Rock. The theme was inspired by the Amgen Tour of California (ATOC), a prestigious cycling event which the City has hosted a record thirteen times. The public art piece is part of the California Bear Project, a project developed in August 2004 by the City of Santa Clarita to install-life size grizzly bear sculptures throughout the community. Each bear replica measures over 10 feet in length and is over five feet tall, and represents different Santa Clarita themes.
