HouseLA, an event to inform Los Angeles County property owners about the benefits of providing housing to individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, is set for Los Angeles Valley College in Van Nuys on Monday, May 6, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Property owners throughout the county interested in renting their units to formerly homeless families and individuals are invited to attend.
The event will be hosted by Third District Supervisor Sheila Kuehl, the Community Development Commission/Housing Authority of the County of Los Angeles, the Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles, and other partner organizations.
Property owners will learn about the various programs that serve those who are homeless as well as the incentives offered to property owners to rent to them, such as holding fees, security deposits and damage mitigation assistance.
Since February 2016, more than 500 property owners have attended similar events held in other communities throughout the county to learn about the programs.
The event will take place at LA Valley College’s Monarch Hall and Patio, 5800 Fulton Avenue, Van Nuys 91401. Free parking will be available in the LVAC structure.
