legoroboticsSanta Clarita’s HART District Robotics Team 691 and Heat it up and Keep it cool Robotics Team 8496 (also from SCV) are hosting a FIRST Lego League Qualifying Tournament for the Los Angeles Region on Sunday, Nov. 8, at West Ranch High School in Valencia.

Twenty-five FLL teams from all over Los Angeles County will be competing and hoping to qualify for the Los Angeles Championship in December.

FLL or First Lego League is one of four programs from the FIRST organization. FIRST stands for “For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology.” All four programs are designed to inspire kids to seek paths in science and engineering.

 

* FIRST Lego League age group 9-14 years

* Tournament is free and open to the public

* Opening Ceremony: 8:45 am. (approximate times)

* Competition rounds starting at 9 to 9:15 am.

* Closing Ceremony between 3:30 – 4 pm.
