Adrian Anderson won the second race in the College of the Canyons Cross Country Series completing the course in 16 minutes, 32.7 seconds.
Sixteen-year-old Dakota Grossman was the top female runner in the race. She crossed the finish line in 19 minutes, 19.9 seconds.
The COC Cross Country Series continues with the third race of the summer on Thursday night.
In auto racing, Canyon High graduate Greg Pursley was sixth in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Evergreen Speedway in Washington.
He won the pole and led the first 37 laps of the race. Eric Holmes, a three-time West Series champion, won the race. It was his first win of the season and his first West Series win at Evergreen Speedway.
Pursley, the reigning West Series champion, is second in the K&N Pro Series West standings. He is six points behind teammate Dylan Kwasniewski.
The next West Series race is at Colorado National Speedway on July 28.
In baseball, the Dodgers lost to the Padres, 7-2, committing five errors and giving up six unearned runs.
The Padres took two of three games from the Dodgers over the weekend, knocking the boys in blue out of first place in the National League West standings.
Next up for the Dodgers are the Phillies at the Ravine tonight. It will be Nathan Eovaldi for the Dodgers against Joe Blanton for the Phillies.
