[KHTS] – SCV All Stars shone brightly at the prestigious Summit National Championships in Orlando last weekend. Four of the five all-star cheerleading teams made it to the final day of competition, resulting in two national championships, a second place and a third place.
More than 470 teams compete in the competition, which was televised live on ESPN3.
The Senior Blue team, a level 3 squad, had a perfect season and garnished the prestigious national championship to top off the year.
Junior Black, level 3, consists of athletes 14 years of age and under. They win a national championship as well with a nearly flawless routine on day 2. There were 38 teams competing at that level.
Senior Black, the highest-level 4 team for the Valencia-based gym, was a definite crowd favorite at Orlando’s Wide World of Sports complex. Thousands cheered on the popular team which earned third place at the highly competitive level.
SCV’s senior 1 level team, Senior White, garnered second place in a tough category by executing an energetic routine.
Often nicknamed “The Olympics” of cheerleading for certain levels, The Summit was created to provide a unique opportunity for the top 10 percent of youth, junior and senior teams in non-Worlds divisions to face-off in a live competition.
