A suspected drug store shoplifter was arrested in Canyon Country Tuesday by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Impact Team deputies and detectives.

“After multiple petty thefts were reported at a drug store, deputies and detectives decided to take action.

“On Tuesday, June 4, they blanketed the area with uniformed and plainclothes personnel from their teams to watch the inside and outside of the store.

“An individual who was recognized by personnel as allegedly committing recent thefts walked into the store, selected cosmetics and walked out without paying for them.

“Deputies arrested the female adult who was caught red-handed on petty theft charges.

“She was also found to have narcotics in her vehicle.

“The suspected drug store shoplifter was transported and booked at the SCV Sheriff’s Station jail.

“The store management expressed their appreciation to deputies for catching the thief.”
