The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors is poised to sign off Tuesday on a $1 million project that would add new fencing, gates and a lighted marquee sign to William S. Hart Park.
If approved, construction could start sometime in late summer, according to the agenda report. The work would replace the chain-link fence along the Newhall Avenue border of the park with a fence made of masonry and wrought iron.
Additionally, wrought-iron gates and landscaping would be added to the park’s entry points. A new electronic marquee sign would be added to announce events at the park, and pavement enhancements would be done to the staff entrance.
Funding would be split between $685,000 from the Fifth Supervisorial District’s capital projects fund, and $315,000 in county excess funds.
