Reportedly one of the main strategies used for Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012 was “focus.” It was the simplicity and repetition of “hope” and “change.”
Irrespective of the evidence that the “hope” part is fading and the “change” part is on a continuum of destruction, liberals, many Democrats and the majority of the media are spinning the farces as positively as they can.
Unemployment and other factors of doom and gloom were fraying Obama’s popularity, but the rollout of the highly touted Obamacare, aka the Affordable Care Act, iced the cake. It’s worthy of mention that it hass been renamed from the original Patient Protection Affordable Care Act. The “Patient Protection” (now known to be nonexistent) issue will be set aside for another time.
Regardless of what the act is called, it is, as Democrats so readily remind us at their convenience, Obamacare is the law.
The law? Again, another topic for another day.
Now for “focus.” Obama, his advisors and his followers are losing it. That’s because Obamacare is experiencing the disinfectant of sunlight and Obamacare, i.e. Democare, is acutely ailing with it.
The sunburn is causing the administration to behave erratically. It is in the mode of distraction; distraction from Obamacare/Democare.
For the past two months, immigration has been in the headlines. Protests and all. So has the debate on raising the minimum wage.
Last week, Eric Holder’s Justice Department announced its settlement with the head of J.P. Morgan for $13 billion for JPM’s role in the mortgage securities crisis. It precluded a lawsuit and is “the largest sum a single company has ever paid to the government.” It is the administration’s billboard to show it is tough on that wealthy Wall Street crowd.
As an aside, would that be the same wealthy crowd that is affording the numerous $32,500-per-plate dinners for Obama and Democrat fundraisers? Just wondering.
Sandra Fluke has been before us again these past two weeks, as well. You might recall that Fluke is the former Georgetown Law School student who was the face of the mantra, “The federal government must pay for my birth control, and if you don’t, you hate females and are waging a war on women.”
Fluke’s appearance was no accident. She has ties to Obama via her administration-friendly PR firm’s representation and her once-boyfriend’s father, William Mutterperl, who has been described as a “Democratic stalwart” with his valuable campaign donations to Democrats.
Over the past couple of days, the major media are resuscitating the negative divide of rich vs. poor. Polls are being announced that show the rich getting richer (mostly that Wall Street group again) while the middle class is not only stagnating, but deriving even less income than years past.
Levine Breaking News (Dec. 18, 2013) published a picture at a protest (location unidentified) of a woman holding a sign: “Tax the Rich.” The accompanying paragraph credits the “majority of more than three dozen economists surveyed last week by The Associated Press.”
Yes, the Associated Press, that Obama-lackey morass that masquerades as a journalism outlet. It is definitely doing its part to revive and popularize animosity between the “haves” and the “have-nots.” The not-so-subtle message is to promote that the “haves” need to give more to the “have-nots.”
What the Obama administration and its boosters are not using as distractions from Obamacare/Democare is the terrorism of Benghazi, the deadly Fast and Furious bungle, the IRS and its own four or five internal scandals, the Fort Hood shooting by a declared Muslim, the Secret Service’s sex scandals, the illegal tapping of phones of AP and Fox News reporters, National Intelligence Director James Clapper’s lying to Congress in his testimony during March 2013 regarding National Security spying… This is but a partial list.
But the wisdom of the major media will undoubtedly prevail.

Betty Arenson has lived in the SCV since 1968 and describes herself as a conservative who’s concerned about progressives’ politics and their impacts on the country, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She says she is unashamed to own a gun or a Bible, couldn’t care less about the color of the president’s skin, and demands that he uphold his oath to protect and follow the Constitution of the United States in its entirety. Her commentary publishes Fridays.
