A 46-year-old man was arrested in Saugus by Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies Sunday for an outstanding warrant and possession of methamphetamine for sale, according to authorities.
Here’s the story from the station’s social media:
“A citizen called our station at 3 a.m. on Sunday and reported a ‘suspicious man’ walking near Haskell Canyon Road in Saugus.
“Deputies checked it out, and the citizen’s instincts were correct.
“Deputies found the white male adult to be under the influence of a controlled substance and he had ziplock baggies in his backpack containing methamphetamine, allegedly for sales.
“The 46-year-old transient also was found to have an outstanding no-bail warrant in the system and determined to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) for a weapons charge.
“Deputies transported and booked the adult male at the station’s jail.
“Thank you to the citizen that served as an extension of our ‘eyes and ears,’ noting suspicious activity and calling the station. Your actions made a difference. This offender who has been absconding justice is back behind bars, and our community is safer—because of you.”
