The Valencia boys soccer team made a quick exit from the CIF Southern Section Division 3 playoffs.
The Vikings lost to Dominguez, 2-1, in the wild-card round.
Dominguez scored two unanswered goals after Valencia had a 1-0 lead in the first half. Marc Silingardi scored the lone goal for Valencia.
The soccer playoffs continue today with the West Ranch girls against Huntington Beach in the wild-card round of Division 1.
In college basketball, The Master’s College men beat Westmont, 58-53, behind a big night off the bench from Jon Hogan. He scored 16 points and made four 3-pointers for The Master’s College.
Westmont, which entered the game tied for first place in the Golden State Athletic Conference, is ranked No. 8 in the NAIA.
The Master’s College women lost to Westmont, 66-56. Zoe Scott led The Master’s College with 14 points against Westmont, the No. 6 team in the NAIA.
In college baseball, the College of the Canyons beat Moorpark College, 12-7. Chad De La Guerra was 3-for-6 with a double, drove in two runs and scored two runs. Connor Garelick homered and drove in two runs for COC.
The Southern Section basketball playoffs start tonight with a couple teams from the Santa Clarita Valley in action.
The Trinity boys play Coastal Christian in the first round of the Division 6 playoffs at The Master’s College. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30.
The Santa Clarita Christian boys are home against Valley Torah in the first round of the Division 5A playoffs. That game starts at 7 p.m.
