PDC President Robert Case presents a $5,000 donation to the Child & Family Center.

PDC, a global leader of innovative identification solutions, hosted its 5th Annual Brady Walk for Community on July 24 at its Valencia location. The Brady Walk for Community is a yearly employee fundraiser held by the Brady Corp., PDC’s parent company, which raises money for charities and gathers donations for food banks.

PDC employees walked up to five laps to raise money, and Brady Corp. matched 20 percent of the total funds raised by each employee plus $2 for every food item participants donated.

The food drive benefited the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, while all monetary proceeds were equally split between two local nonprofit organizations: the Tierra Del Sol Foundation and the Child & Family Center.

“PDC is delighted to be included in the Brady Walk for Community and to be a part of the Brady Corporation, which is committed to giving back to the communities where its businesses operate,” said Robert Case, President of PDC. “We want to see the amazing work of Tierra del Sol, the Child and Family Center, and the SCV Food Pantry furthered to positively impact the people of Santa Clarita.”

Tierra del Sol enables individuals with disabilities to establish meaningful and productive lives and to contribute to the economic, cultural and civic vitality of their communities through gainful employment. For more than twenty years, PDC has employed clients of Tierra Del Sol and was the first business in the city of Santa Clarita to do so.

PDC has also partnered with the Child & Family Center since 2012 by participating in the annual “Adopt-A-Family” and teen gift card holiday giving program, which provides clothing, gift cards, and toys, to local families in need. The Child & Family Center helps build a healthy Santa Clarita Valley by providing mental health, behavioral and education services to children, adults and families in a safe and nurturing environment.

Local businesses also joined in with additional sponsorship support for the event, including Café Rio, Chick-fil-A, In-N-Out Burger, Jimmy John’s, Lady Di’s Cookies, Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods Market.
