Kevin Jones

Kevin Jones joined the McKeon Group on Aug. 8 as Senior Vice President after nearly 14 years as professional staff on the House Appropriations Committee. During this time, Kevin supported the Appropriations Committee providing funding and language recommendations, having served as a member of both the Majority and Minority staff.

Bringing his in-depth knowledge of both the Federal budget and congressional appropriations processes, Jones will lead, inform, and navigate McKeon Group throughout the entirety of these proceedings.

“The scope of his experience on the Appropriations Committee covered vital programs of national interest, including national security and intelligence community programs, renewable and nuclear energy initiatives, and employment training and work protection policies and programs,” McKeon added. “This broad program exposure spanning multiple Federal agencies will provide additional understanding and expertise for our diverse client portfolio operating in these fields.”

With a proven track record, Jones will leverage his intimate knowledge of the Federal budget process and how it feeds into the congressional appropriations and budget execution in order to benefit McKeon Group clients.

Jones’ tenure on the Appropriations Committee included overseeing the recommendation and execution of program funding provided by the Defense, Energy and Water Development, Homeland Security, and Labor/Health and Human Services/Education subcommittees, as well as other agencies such as the Social Security Administration and the National Labor Relations Board.

Jones’ oversight of hundreds of billions of dollars for the Committee over the years has given him extensive knowledge of the entire appropriations process enabling him to develop a strategic “idea to implementation” plan for McKeon Group clients.

Headed by former Santa Clarita Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon, the McKeon group is a consulting firm that devises developmental and marketing strategies for a list of clients that includes Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics and L-3 Communications.
