The Master’s University volleyball team returned to its winning ways Friday night by beating San Diego Christian in three sets (25-22, 25-21, 25-19).
Friday’s win improved the Lady Mustangs’ 2016 record to 9-5 and 2-1 in Golden State Athletic Conference play.
“Tonight was a much-needed win,” commented head coach Allan Vince. “The ladies have been challenged the last two matches, but showed their resilience tonight by taking control early and throughout. They showed both the skill, and will to win tonight, and gave honor and glory to the Lord throughout the process. My assistant, Joel, put together a great scout on San Diego, and the girls executed it very well. I am proud of the character being produced in each one of these athletes, and proud of my leaders for stepping forward and leading their team to victory.”
TMU’s Rebecca Davis paced the Lady Mustangs with 10 kills and nine digs. Not to be overlooked, TMU’s Kayla Sims tallied 28 assists and 13 digs. Emily Clark posted 10 digs. Notably, the vast majority of Vince’s roster received valuable playing time.
Collectively, the Lady Mustangs tallied 49 digs, 35 kills, 35 assists, and a .144 attack percentage.
On Saturday, the Lady Mustangs will host Arizona Christian University at 4:00 p.m. Streaming options for Saturday’s match can be found here.
