For the second time this season, sophomore Sidney Wolf turned in a season-low 69 to help lead the College of the Canyons to a second-place finish at the Cougar’s fifth conference tournament at Antelope Valley Country Club on Monday afternoon.
The Cougars carded at 376, to trail first-place finisher Santa Barbara City College by two strokes for a 368, after 18 holes. COC still leads the conference with a 33-2 record, while Santa Barbara sits in second with a 29-6 record. Ventura is in third after improving to 27-8.
Wolf tied for first place with Santa Barbara’s Black McPherson with a 69. The sophomore also turned in a 69 on March 10 at the fourth WSC Tournament at River Ridge Golf Club.
Aaron Grimes carded a 70, good for a tie for third place, while recording his second lowest round of the 2014 season. Jonas Guriby Dahl and Michael Stewart tallied 78s and Clayton Chatterley had an 81.
The Cougars will travel to Santa Maria Country Club on Monday, March 31 for the squad’s sixth conference tournament.
