Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

[LASD] – This week the Valencia area experienced fifteen Part 1 crimes reported.

The following Part 1 crimes included various criminal incidents such as three commercial burglaries, one residential burglary, one aggravated assault, one rape and various shopping lifting/petty theft reports from local Valencia businesses.

Two of the commercial burglaries occurred from the 25000 block of Tournament Road during the early hours of 10:00pm-8:00am. Both businesses had their front door smashed by a rock, which was located at the scene and obtained for evidence. Items stolen were US currency and bottles of wine. Anyone with information regarding these occurrences is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Station at 661/255-1121.

A residential burglary occurred at the 27000 block of Littlefield Drive at 10:00 am. Item stolen was jewelry from an upstairs bedroom. Entry/Exit is unknown. Santa Clarita Detectives are currently working this case.

An aggravated assault involving domestic partners occurred in the 24000 block of Del Monte Drive. Alcohol and a weapon (large metal spoon) were involved during the incident. A male/white, 49 years old was arrested and booked at the Santa Clarita Station for domestic violence charges.

A rape involving two juveniles occurred at the 24000 block of Saint Moritz Drive in the afternoon during a weekday. The case is currently being investigated by the Special Victims Unit of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

There were two petty thefts from vehicles which were parked at a school and local fitness parking lot during the weekday. Both vehicles were left unlocked with personal belongings left in plain view from outside the vehicles. Items stolen included purse, wallet, camera, IPOD, IPhone, GPS and MP3 player.

Once again, I urge all of you to please be aware of your surroundings. Secure all personal belongings. Do not leave your personal items (purses, book bags, lap tops, etc.) unattended or visible in your vehicles. Remember to secure your vehicles by rolling up all windows, locking all doors and when possible try to park in well-lit and highly visible areas. Report all suspicious activity by calling the Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.

This past week ten arrests were made by Santa Clarita Deputies assigned to the Valencia area. The criminal actions included drunk in public, under the influence of alcohol, possession of narcotics, domestic violence and shoplifting from local businesses.
