High rent keeps the trash out . We don’t need to turn SCV into Palmdale with Section 8 housing or affordable housing . Things cost what they do because it’s nice out here and nice things cost a lot .If you don’t like how much your paying for an apartment then step your game up , work hard and make the appropriate sacrifices instead of going bar hopping , drinking at happy hour everyday, maxing out your credit cards on stupid things and driving a car way out of your means. It’s not hard to live out here when your priorities are in the right direction.
WoW.
You are sooooo stupid. Some just can’t find a job or struggle due to personal reasons, not because of the reasons you stated. Take it from someone who has worked harder than most, has a bachelors degree and has a full-time job in the medical field, but still can’t afford a place to live. Dumbass…
Travis- this comment is extremely ignorant. I grew up out here in SCV since I was 10 years old. It was difficult for my mom, but she wanted to be in a nice area. Last year, I moved out on my own at 21. I moved into these condos that are pictured in this article. I had roommates and even got a pretty decent deal from our landlord. However, I had to work 2 jobs to make rent every month. I don’t drink and I didn’t use my credit cards at all when I moved out, and I drive a 2009 fit that has been paid off. Even with all that said, it was extremely difficult to live. I had no extra money for any extra expenses (I got a flat tire and my car towed this time last year), and I had to do all of my grocery shopping at the 99c store. It’s not impossible to live, I made the proper sacrifices that you’re stating, but people shouldn’t have to live the way I did just to live in a run down apartment, struggling to get by. It’s difficult for you to relate because you aren’t in that position, but I’m a young college student who has lived in the apartments out here and the rent is outrageous. I may not change your mind, but I hope you see that there are young people like myself (not trash) who are doing everything they can just to make ends meet out here. And it’s more difficult than it needs to
@Travis…You mentioned everything the right way, well said!
