The Master’s College women’s volleyball team is on life support at the NAIA National Championship tournament in Iowa.

The Lady Mustangs lost in four games to Viterbo University from Wisconsin in pool play. The Master’s College women have lost two matches in pool play and need a lot of help to make the elimination rounds of the tournament.

Viterbo improve to 2-0 at the NAIA National Tournament. The Master’s College dropped to 0-2.

The Lady Mustangs play Indiana Wesleyan today in the third round of pool play.

In high school soccer, the Saugus girls recorded their second shutout in a row, 4-0, against Moorpark. Brenna Savoie scored two goals in the first half to put the Centurions up early in the match.

She has three goals and an assist in the first two games for Saugus.

Kassandra Jones and Ashley Caron each scored in the second half.

In high school basketball, the Valencia girls beat Fairview from Colorado, 50-33, in the High Five Classic. Talia Roth scored 22 points and was 8-for-11 from the field for the Vikings.

Valencia plays Royal in pool play on Friday night.

The Saugus girls lost to Royal, 52-47, in the Valencia High Five Classic.

The Centurions play Fairview next in the tournament on Friday.

The Valencia boys basketball team beat Rio Mesa, 58-57, on a last-minute shot by Kayode Washington in pool play at the Simi Valley tournament. He scored 12 points in the game. Angel Cardenas led the Vikings with 13 points.

In the NBA, the Clippers beat the visiting Minnesota Timberwolves, 101-95, and snapped their four-game losing streak.

Chauncey Billups made his season debut for the Clippers and scored seven points in 19 minutes.

Chris Paul led the Clippers with 23 points and 11 assists. Next up for the Clippers are the Sacramento Kings on Saturday night.
