Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station Crime Prevention Unit

Last week there was a decrease in reported Part-1 crimes. There was a battery with great bodily injury from a local eating establishment in the 22900 block of Soledad Canyon Road on Saturday, 02/16/2013, at 1:20 a.m. The victim was assaulted by a group of males outside of the business while having an argument with his girlfriend. Detectives are looking for those who were involved in the incident.

There was a vehicle burglary in the 22900 block of Oak Ridge Drive on Friday, 02/15/2013, between 5:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. The vehicle was burglarized while parked in the underground parking at the location. Miscellaneous personal items were taken from the vehicle. It is unknown how entry was made into the vehicle.

There was a petty theft from an eating establishment in the 26400 block of Bouquet Canyon Road late Friday night, 02/15/2013, into Saturday morning. There were four bistro tables taken from the front of the location.

There were multiple arrests made over the past week but one stands out above the rest. On Friday, 02/15/2013, deputies responded to a call of vandalism in progress. Upon arrival, deputies contacted one of the victims who stated that the suspect had smashed her sunroof with a rock. Deputies also learned that the suspect had broken some mailboxes and vandalized passing vehicles. Deputies conducted an extensive search and found the suspect a short distance away. While conducting their investigation, other people arrived and stated that they too were victims of vandalism by the suspect. The suspect was charged with both misdemeanor and felony vandalism. There were a total of five victims.

If you have any information regarding the above mentioned crimes please call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at 661-255-1121.
