Firefighters responded to the fire in the Lake Hughes area near Johnson Road at shortly after 12 p.m.
Helicopters and Super Scoopers were on scene, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. No structures were threatened.
At approximately 1:50 p.m., the Los Angeles County Fire Department Public Information Office Twitter reported that the Lake Hughes fire near Johnson Road, dubbed the “Johnson Incident,” is at about 40 acres with forward progress stopped.
The fire burned about 70 acres and was knocked down later Tuesday afternoon.
