Canyon Country (East) Crime Report: Week of February 6-12
02/06/17
Grand Theft- 18100 block of Flynn Drive
Person(s) unknown stole two electric drills, and an electric grinder from the victim’s unlocked truck.
Residential Burglary- 29000 block of Oak Spring Canyon Road
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s residence through a window and stole numerous pieces of property.
02/08/17
Attempt Robbery- 27900 block of Solamint Road
While the victim was attempting to open an apartment complex security gate near the above location, a male suspect ran up to him, punched him in the head and chest and attempted to take the victim’s vehicle keys. The victim was able to fight off the suspect. The suspect ran away and out of view.
02/09/17
Commercial Burglary- 18200 block of Soledad Canyon Road
Person(s) unknown smashed the front window to a business near the above location and stole the cash register containing approximately $2000.00 in cash.
02/10/17
Residential Burglary- 27300 block of Red Bud Lane
Person(s) unknown forced entry into the victim’s garage and stole 6 “Star Wars” light sabers.
IF YOU WITNESS A CRIME
If you see or suspect a crime is being committed, pay particular attention to the features of the offender(s) and any vehicles involved. Try to be prepared to provide at least the following about the offenders:
When reporting a crime by telephone, remain on the phone until the dispatcher is fully briefed with all the information necessary to dispatch the appropriate response personnel to the scene.
1. Age, race, height, and weight;
2. Hair color and style, beard and mustache;
3. Notable characteristics (acne, scars, glasses mental state, etc.)
4. Clothing description;
5. Location where last seen;
6. Last known direction of travel;
7. Vehicle description and distinctive markings.
Witnesses who wish to remain anonymous may do so. It is more important that a response be dispatched as quickly as possible.
