Zone 6, Newhall, Weekly crime report for 06/20/16 – 06/26/16.

06/20/16

Grand Theft- 24600 Pine St.

Person(s) unknown stole a steel column and an unknown number of channel iron beams from the front on the indicted location.

Petty Theft – 24200 Main St.

The suspect entered the location, selected a store item and concealed it in his pants before exiting the location. The suspect was confronted outside by a store employee and asked to return the item, at which time the suspect removed it from his pants and handed to the employee. The suspect then entered a vehicle and left the location.

Vehicle Burglary – 22400 12th St.

Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s locked trailer through a side door. There were no signs of forced into the trailer despite the side door being locked and nothing appeared to have been stolen.

Vehicle Burglary – 24900 Newhall Ave.

Person(s) unknown entered the victim’s locked vehicle by unknown means and stole various tools

Grand Theft – Newhall Ave. / 14 Freeway

Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s vehicle (1995 GMC Yukon), while parked at the indicated location.

Grand Theft – 24300 Newhall Ave.

Person(s) unknown stole the victim’s motorcycle (2002 Yamaha TTRS motorcycle), from his unsecured apartment parking garage. The motorcycle was secured to a pole by a metal chain that was cut using an unknown cutting tool.

As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, as a reminder, it is unlawful for any person to handle, give away, sell, offer for sale, solicit the sale of, manufacture, possess, purchase, use, ignite, explode, fire, or otherwise discharge any fireworks within the city of Santa Clarita according to Section 9.60.030 SCMC. Fireworks may cause burns, injuries and fires. Violators can be held responsible for damages, as well as having to pay a fine and/or go to jail.
