The City of Santa Clarita has been announced as one of the finalists for The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation’s 2015 Most Business-Friendly City in Los Angeles County Award. Santa Clarita is joined by Bellflower, Carson, Lakewood, Palmdale and Pasadena as finalists in the population of 67,000 and over category.
Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County’s third largest City, remains business-friendly by offering business-minded policies and programs, a highly educated workforce, film incentive programs, site selection assistance and an expedited plan review and permitting processing. In addition, Santa Clarita does not assess a business license fee or a utility user tax, allowing businesses to save up to four percent or more on their electric, telephone, water and gas bills.
“We are committed to stimulating our City’s economic vitality and quality of life for residents,” said Mayor Marsha McLean. “We are honored to be nominated for this award and we will continue to do everything we can to ensure Santa Clarita remains business-friendly.”
The winner will be announced at the 20th Annual Eddy Awards Gala on Thursday, November 12. The gala is celebrating 20 years of honoring leadership in economic development, and includes California’s only “business-friendly city” award, recognizing cities within L.A. County that are proactively promoting business-friendly programs and services; a critical factor in job creation.
The City of Santa Clarita was a finalist for this award in 2014, 2007 and 2006. In 2008, the City was named the Most Business Friendly City in Los Angeles County in the population of 50,000 and over category.
