Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of potential human remains in the Angeles National Forest.
Homicide detectives report today at approximately 1 p.m., on Highway 39, San Gabriel Mountain Road, Mile Marker 20.21, Angeles National Forest, members of the San Dimas and Sierra Madre Search and Rescue teams along with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner Recovery team recovered two sets of human remains.
The identification and gender of the remains are unknown as they were burned beyond recognition.
Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner personnel indicate it may take approximately four weeks to accurately identify the remains.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information.
