Fire crews worked overnight to mop up a 50-acre brush fire that threatened a mobile home park near Interstate 5 in the Angeles National Forest.
No homes were lost, and no evacuations were ordered at the Paradise Ranch Mobile Home Park in Castaic or anywhere else, said Nathan Judy, Forest Service spokesman. No injuries were reported.
The fire started with a big rig that caught ablaze and spread to nearby roadside brush north of Templin Highway.
The big-rig fire was first reported at 3:37 p.m. Monday, according to Fire Inspector Tony Akins of the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Los Angeles County Fire and Angeles National Forest Service units responded.
Fire officials reported medium to heavy fuel in the area.
Traffic was backed up due to closures in the No. 2, 3 and 4 lanes on the northbound side of Interstate 5.
