1863 - Gen. Edward F. Beale loans money to A.A. Hudson and Oliver P. Robbins to erect toll house in Newhall Pass [story]
toll house

If you wondered why two F-15s were buzzing the Santa Clarita Valley early Wednesday evening when President Barack Obama was in Los Angeles, here’s why.

PETERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Colo. – F-15 fighters under the direction of North American Aerospace Defense Command intercepted two general aviation aircraft that were out of communications in the Temporary Flight Restriction Zone over Los Angeles, Calif, at approximately 6:30 p.m. PDT yesterday evening.

Once the aircraft were intercepted and had departed the Temporary Flight Restricted Zone, they landed at regional airports and were investigated by local law enforcement.

NORAD’s mission – in close collaboration with homeland defense, security, and law enforcement partners – is to prevent air attacks against North America, safeguard the sovereign airspaces of the United States and Canada by responding to unknown, unwanted and unauthorized air activity approaching and operating within these airspaces, and provide aerospace and maritime warning for North America.

NORAD is the bi-national Canadian and American command that is responsible for the air defense of North America and maritime warning. The command has three subordinate regional headquarters: the Alaskan NORAD Region at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska; the Canadian NORAD Region at Winnipeg, Manitoba; and the Continental NORAD Region at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. The command is poised both tactically and strategically in our nation’s capital to provide a multilayered defense to detect, deter and prevent potential threats flying over the airspace of the United States and Canada.

Here’s one for all of you, my sources never lie and I was told that today by my source that our President knows nothing about Benghazi other than what he has been told by his sources, then passed on to us. They ALWAYS TELL TELL THE TRUTH!! Unless he’s holding something back???

  40. Travis Marg says:

One plane was out of Whiteman air port in Pocoma and the other plane was out of Bakersfield TFRs are strictly enforced and all pilots are to check for the TFRs before they take flight this is like driving between the presidents convoy with your car see what happens too you when you do that

Heard it, saw it and the private plane headed to Aqua Dulce airport over Sand Canyon.

  49. Our taxes waste thats all.

  50. Those are 100% F-15s. Two engines two vertical stabs facing directly up. Boxed air intakes.

  51. Jennifer Griffin says:

I’m curious if all the Fox News lovers would scream ‘waste of money, blah, blah, blah’ if a Republican was aboard Air Force One. Love how they think only Dems get Presidential treatment. For what it’s worth, before you scream I must be some crazy liberal, I vote Dem or Republican based on candidate, not a party name on a ballot.

  52. Jaysen says:

Did anyone get a pic of the aircraft?

  53. Amaseing how quike they can do that. Wonder what happened on 911 ? Oh i know dick chaney was doing manuvers with all the jets in the area that day. Hmmmm

  54. Too bad they didn’t scramble something in Benghazi!

  55. Eugene Jung says:

    Paranoia strikes deep
Into your life it will creep
It starts when you’re always afraid
You step out of line, the man come and take you away

  56. Where did the pic of the “F-16” and the private plane come from. The article says it was F-15’s (stock photo). Growing up in the flight path of an AF Base the sounds of fighter jets brought back memories.
