Katie Farris
On the cusp of the opening round of the GSAC Tournament, a trio of Lady Mustangs has been named to the 2014 GSAC Women’s Soccer All-Conference Team presented by Under Armour.
Leading the way is senior forward and GSAC Player of the Year Katie Farris (Newhall, CA) whose 17 goals paced the conference and marked the third-highest, single-season total in program history. Her 38 points, good for second in the GSAC, tied her for the second-best, single-season mark in program history.
Joining Farris on the squad for the second year in a row and a record-tying third time overall was senior midfielder Natasha Coyle (La Habra, CA) who kicked in nine goals and added three assists for 21 points. Coyle, who was named NAIA Offensive Player of the Week in late September, joined Bobby Roberts (2008, ’10, ’11) as the only three-time All-GSAC choices in school history.
Senior defender Jordan Benson (Corona, CA) rounded out the Mustang all-conference selections, keying a defense that produced nine shutouts and allowed just 17 goals in a like number of matches.
